Ruston Community Theater was formed December 19, 1977 by a group of local citizens who loved theater and wanted to create an opportunity for the people of Ruston to direct, act, and attend local community productions. When the Dixie Center for the Arts opened its doors in 2006, RCT moved in as a priority partner. Four productions are presented each season.

Though the characters may be familiar, each of your favorite storybook fables is uproariously derailed in this adaptation of Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith's quintessential children's book of fractured fairy tales. Everything from "Chicken Little" to "The Gingerbread Man" gets a complete makeover. Fun music and witty narration accompany the likes of ineloquent giants, sassy barnyard animals, colossal cow pies, and enough stinky cheese to go around. The play is adapted for stage by John Galore and will be directed by Tami Alexander. The show is sponsored by our corporate partner Orthopaedic & Spine Clinic of Louisiana.
